Weekly Schedule

Basketball teams will be formed in December of 2007 to play in both the home school leagues in southern California and the Escondido YMCA league.  Our home court this year will again be the Escondido YMCA for our Escondido teams.  We will practice there primarily, and at some other gyms occasionally.  We will play home games at the YMCA in Escondido and at some gyms in Riverside for the home school league.  Practices will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Escondido YMCA, between 3:00 and 5:00.  Some teams may practice 1 hour in one of these time blocks, and come teams may practice more (as they get older).  We will have every other Friday for practices, and will use this some weeks for games, and some weeks we will practice 3:00-5:00.  Teams will be as follows (age determined on Sept 1, 2007):

bulletVarsity Girls (high school age, by ability)
bulletVarsity Boys (high school age, by ability)
bulletJV Girls (high school age, by ability)
bulletJV boys (high school age, by ability)
bulletFreshman Girls (14 or under on Sept 1, 2007)
bulletFreshman Boys (14 or under on Sept 1, 2007)

Costs:

bullet

The athletic fee will be $200 per player for the 4 month season.  This is the money that pays Todd Nash for his time and his expenses not directly paid for in basketball billings.  These expenses include attending meetings, purchasing equipment, transportation, administrative time setting up games, practice locations, etc., and many other time expenditures.  It also covers some of his time in coaching.  Additional parent coaches are needed to help with teams, particularly during games.

bulletThere may also be additional costs for game uniforms for new players (kept by CAHS - approximately $80).
bulletPractice uniforms for those not currently owning one (kept by players - $25).
bulletGym rental and referee costs.  These costs will be totaled each month and parents will be emailed with their total cost for additional fees, to be paid each month.
bulletTravel costs to away games - your gas and time.
bulletTournament entry fees: approximately $35 - $40 per player for most tournaments we would enter.  We expect to play in the home school tournament in Riverside the last weekend in March.  There may also be a Christmas tournament, depending on player availability.

Game schedules will be posted as they are developed and available with directions to the games so you can have your friends and relatives go to the website for game information.  Watch for a link on the left side of the page titled GAMES to see the next games for any of the Knights teams!

The time to sign up for basketball teams in Escondido is NOW!  If you would like to have your child play on one of the teams, please go to the registration page and sign them up right away so we can begin forming teams!!  Thanks, and I look forward to seeing many of you on the court this winter!
