In the fall of 2010 California Athletics will offer a tackle football opportunity in 2 areas of southern California and in 1 or 2 areas of northern California.  The format will be different than any league.  It will be a LOW COST, and LOW TIME COMMITMENT opportunity to experience tackle football! 

In each area, we will need 12-20 players to practice and play.  We will meet one day each week for 2 1/2 hours.  Players will have their own girdle pads, pants and pads, mouthguard, and cleats.  CAHS will bring the shoulder pads, jersey, and helmet (the really expensive stuff!).  The CAHS supplied equipment will be brought in and taken away each session, saving you storage space!  We will practice and play on a Saturday morning or afternoon wherever we can get enough players to join together, meeting only once a week for 2 1/2 hours.  We will meet each Saturday in September in Northern California for 4 sessions, and in southern California we will meet each Saturday for 6-7 weeks during October and November. 

In Northern California, the football team will cost $100 per player, plus the cost of your basic pads (approximately $50) which you will keep.  For the southern California football teams, the cost will be $175 per player plus the cost of pants pads (about $50) which you will keep.  This is a LOW COST for tackle football!  Pop Warner youth football costs around $500 in most places, and that is with lots of city subsidies.

Here is the key to having a team form in your area: SIGN UP!  Each year I get countless calls from people who say "We wanted to play, but we were waiting to see if a team was formed before we registered."  If you apply logic to that idea, that means that no teams will ever form!  Registrations must come in on the website to get players and form teams!  So in order to see if a team forms in your area, register ASAP!  No check is required to register and try to form a team.  Thanks!
