Girls Volleyball

In the fall of 2007 California Athletics for Home Schools will organize several girls volleyball teams. We will compete in the southern California home school league with other home school and private school teams throughout southern California. We will play some JV teams and some Varsity teams. The team will require 1-2 days a week of practice, and games will be held once a week on average. Practices will likely be 3:00-5:00 on 1 or 2 weekdays each week. Games will usually be Fridays at 3:00, and most will be played outdoors on grass until the final tournament. All teams will play in 1 tournament the last Saturday of October in Anaheim. Teams will be started in San Marcos, south San Diego County, Murietta, Mission Viejo, Anaheim, Huntington Beach, and Torrance/South Bay under the leadership and guidance of California Athletics for Home Schools (CAHS).

Each of these sites will have a team that will come together to practice and play games, and each site will have it's own coach/team parent to help organize the team. Todd Nash/CAHS will organize the teams within the home school league in Southern California and set up game schedules for all teams, get uniforms, get equipment, and help each team to organize.

Games: There will be games played through the season on some Fridays, and there will be 2 to 3 tournaments through the season. We are planning a "beach volleyball" tournament in San Diego (probably at Oceanside or Mission Beach) for one Saturday, another indoor or outdoor tournament, and the final major tournament in Anaheim the last weekend in October.

Costs:

	The athletic fee will be $120 for the 2 month season.
	There may also be small additional costs for uniforms.
	Referee fees for home games (if referees are used) and gym rental costs (if home games are played indoors) are shared by the team.
	Travel costs to some away games.
	Shared tournament entry fee for the tournament the last Saturday in October.
	Expected total cost should be around $200.

CAHS will strive to maintain a strong Christian testimony in all of our games and practices, and in our conduct on and off the field.

Then call or email Todd Nash at (760) 727-3604 or CalAthletics@sbcglobal.net and let him know that you are registering. Teams will begin forming through website registrations in July, with practices starting throughout the summer leading up to regular season practices in September. You will be emailed as teams are formed in your area.
