SCOPE Sports and PE Classes

This school year Todd be starting a sports & PE program specifically for SCOPE students in the Sacramento area.  The program will give the opportunity to all SCOPE students, boys and girls, age 5-18, the opportunity to learn about many sports and play games at a recreational level.  The cost and time commitment will be low, making it easy for all to play.

This fall, September 19-23, 2011 Todd will teach a 1 week basketball clinic in 3 sites in the Sacramento area.  In the 1 week clinic students will learn all of the major individual skills in basketball as well as team concepts and small group games they can play to develop their skills in basketball and to develop good motor skills in general.  Registrations will be available for the Basketball Clinic starting now!  The clinic will meet Monday - Friday, each day for 1 1/2 hours.

This is a great clinic for your children to learn basketball skills, or to sharpen their skills in the fall if they are planning to play this winter.  The Basketball Clinics will meet on the following schedule:

Meeting September 19-23, Monday - Friday, Sacramento area basketball meeting each day:

9:00-10:30    Roseville

11:30-1:00    Elk Grove

2:10-3:40      Vacaville

4:30-6:00      Sacramento

To sign up for the clinic, click on HOME above to go to the home page, then click on REGISTER to go to the REGISTRATION page.

DIRECTIONS to each site are posted below.

The cost for the entire week of instruction will be just $90 for cash or check!  To sign up, click on REGISTER from the home page and mail your check for $90 per student.

DIRECTIONS TO EACH SITE:

Week 1:  (September 19-23, 2011)  Sacramento area

9:00-10:30  Roseville:  Hillsborough Park, 1001 Hillsborough Drive, at the intersection of Sierra College & East Roseville Pkwy.  Meet in the parking lot on Hillsborough Drive next to the basketball court.

11:30-1:00  Elk Grove:  Morse Community Park, Elk Grove.  5540 Bellaterra Drive.  At the intersection of Bellaterra Drive and Landview Drive.  Enter the parking lot at this intersection (on the north side of the park), turn left and go to the end of the parking lot.  Meet there.  The basketball court is just off the parking lot at the far northeast end of the lot.  For a map of the park go to: http://www.yourcsd.com/parks/facts/morse.html  The basketball court is in the upper central part of the diagram.

2:10-3:40  Vacaville:  Stonegate Park.  Take I-80 to Leisuretown Rd South, turn right on Stonewood Dr (NOT Stonegate Dr), the park is on the right after the 3rd street.  We will meet on the basketball court.

4:30-6:00  Sacramento:  Tahoe Park, 3501 59th Street, Sacramento.  From 11th Ave on the sough side of the park, go north on 61st Street on the east side of the park and park on the left in the spaces next to the park, closest to 11th.  The basketball court is straight in from those spaces.  We will meet in the parking area on 61st Street closest to 11th.

It is recommended that students take all 3 clinics throughout the year to gain exposure to all of the sports offered.  This will provide a valuable “PE level” of sports experience, not requiring a serious time or money commitment to any of the sports.  Todd Nash has been teaching home school PE classes and organizing sports opportunities for home schooled students for 10 years in California.  Please call of email Todd if you have questions.

Here is the Key to making the SCOPE SPORTS & PE PROGRAM successful: Make the decision now to commit to developing your children’s physical skills and fitness as much as we do with their academic success, and REGISTER EARLY!!  Go to the HOME PAGE and click on REGISTER to sign up for any of these sites.  In the box where it asks if you will be paid for by a charter answer NO, and then enter SCOPE in the next box where it asks for the name of your group.  This will help me differentiate the SCOPE enrollments from all others, and set up the SCOPE Track & Field Clinics!  When there are enough enrolllments from just the SCOPE membership, California Athletics will plan clinics exclusively for SCOPE members.

Feel free to call or email if you have any questions, and I hope to see many of you at the basketball clinics in September!
